How to get there

By Plane

The nearest international airport is Genève (Geneva), about 60 km from congress venue. The Genève Airport offers connections to the Swiss and European rail network. The SBB/CFF airport railway station has direct access to the airport Check-in and Arrival levels. All trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin station (city center). Tickets can be purchased at the distributors in the train station (Swiss francs, euros or credit cards), at the station ticket wickets, at Ticket Shop CFF or – on landing in Geneva – in the baggage claim area (Arrivals level). If you continue by metro in Lausanne, buy a ticket until "Lausanne-Vennes", it will include train and metro (approx. CHF 15.00, one way). Note that tickets cannot be bought on the train and fines for traveling without a ticket are very high. Discounted tickets are valid only for a specific train at a specific time, and are not advisable when arriving by plane.

The two other international airports of Switzerland are Zurich and Basel, both about 2h30 away from Lausanne. At Zurich Airport, the train station is located under the airport. A number of trains run directly to
Lausanne; others will require to change train in Bern (approx. CHF 41.00). Basel Airport is connected to Basel main train station (Basel SBB) by frequent bus shuttles; change train in Biel/Bienne (approx. CHF 39.00).

Geneva and Basel airports have two exists (Switzerland and France). Use the Swiss exit.
