          JOURNAL OF APPLIED ICHTHYOLOGY: SPECIAL ISSUE

We are pleased to inform you that the XVI European Congress of Ichthyology (ECI XVI) organizing committee reached an agreement to publish some selected papers presented during the event in the Journal of Applied Ichthyology (JAI). JAI is a Wiley Online Library peer-reviewed international journal that publishes articles of international repute on ichthyology, aquaculture, and marine fisheries; ichthyopathology and ichthyoimmunology; environmental toxicology using fishes as test organisms; basic research on fishery management; and aspects of integrated coastal zone management in relation to fisheries and aquaculture. The journal has an impact factor of 0.877 (JCR 2018). Papers should be submitted through ScholarOne Manuscripts. Corresponding authors should log in with their user ID and password. Please do not forget during the submission process to select (Step 6: Details & Comments) Special Issue “ECI XVI”. Participants of the ECI XVI are invited to submit their works to this special issue. Online submission started on 1st November 2019 and ends on 31st January 2020. It will follow an independent and blind review. There are no APC (excluding the open access option).            ORAL PRESENTATIONS

​

Oral presentations last 20 minutes, including the 5 minute period for questions and debate with the audience. There will be a timer on the podium and a system of cards (green card – 7 minutes left; yellow card – 5 minutes left; red card – 2 minutes left) to inform the speaker of the available time for conclusion of the presentation. Please be advised that presentations exceeding the limit of 15 minutes will be cut off by the moderators in the interest of time. A laptop computer will be available in the session room. Participants should provide their presentations to the secretariat the day before their scheduled sessions. Presentations should exclusively be in Microsoft PowerPoint. No other system will be accepted. Bring your presentation on a USB Pen (CD-ROM are not accepted). The file should be named "ECIXVI_YOURNAME_X_SEPT" (with X = the date of the presentation). A computer will be available to upload presentations and test them. An assistant will help you with any technical issues. Presentations should be in English. 

 

 

           POSTER PRESENTATIONS

 

Posters will be available for viewing for a full day, and authors will be asked to be available for discussion during the poster sessions. Posters should be formatted to fit a maximum size of standard A0-format (841 x 1189 mm) in portrait orientation. At registration, you will be provided with instructions on your poster location, and will be given a number. The number will be on the poster board assigned to your poster. Materials to secure posters to the boards will also be provided. The title and author list must appear at the top of the poster. It is recommended to add a photo of the presenting author in the upper right corner. You can also bring some A4 copies of your poster for distribution.

          

       

           YOUNG STUDENT AWARDS (EISSA)

​

Students will have the opportunity to compete for monetary awards for best oral and poster presentations.
